Course Description
As the director of one of the biggest private collections in Mexico, the Isabel and Agustín Coppel Collection (CIAC), Magnolia de La Garza recounts the story of how the collection was started, how it evolved to become a global collection and what is in store for the future. Taking an unusual route, the collection exhibits artworks at a publicly accessible botanical garden, Jardín Botánico Culiacán, inviting the city’s locals to engage with their outdoor installations. De La Garza talks about the unexpected wonders and difficulties that come with maintaining an outdoor public exhibition and provides advice for how you can build and display a collection without opening a private museum.
